Hywel's Story

A Cardiff grandfather Hywel Jones, 59, has signed up to HealthWise Wales. Hywel's grandfather, died of heart disease when he was in his fifties, and his father had a heart attack aged 57.

"I'm now 59 - around the same age as my father was when he had a heart attack. Luckily he made a full recovery but I'm very aware I may be susceptible to the same health problems as my dad and grandfather. I know I have to watch what I eat, drink and ensure I do enough exercise as there's a chance I may develop heart issues. My grandfather didn't have that gift - and perhaps if he'd known, he may have survived longer."
