HealthWise Wales and Coleg Cambria

HealthWise Wales visited Coleg Cambria in Wrexham, with study manager Dr Lisa Hurt presenting on the history of medical research in Wales, and how we can learn from and extent these research methodologies within the context of HealthWise Wales.

It was great to get the students talking about how research can provide effective and efficient health and care services that will meet the health needs of the future.

A key aim of HealthWise Wales is to improve the health and wellbeing of the Welsh population, by putting people at the heart of knowledge creation and translating new knowledge into policy and practice. The group came up with research themes that they feel are important areas of research the future health of the nation, such as Diabetes, Obesity, Dementia and Heart disease.
